Summary
Dr Arshad Mahmood is a retired Lieutenant Colonel who did PhD in IR in 2019. Possesses vast experience in the fields of security, defense and strategic studies being a practitioner in these fields for 42 years( active and post retirement employment inclusive). He is now an academic after completion of PhD in IR (Fall 2019) and had been teaching IR subjects in NUML and NDU since 2020. He joined NUST as Assistant professor and was posted to NIPCONS (BMAS) on 1 Apr 2022. Given his five years plus post PhD experience, he was specifically posted in CIPS in Oct 2024, to teach MS and PhD IR courses at Department of International Studies. Currently he is teaching two courses of IR at DIS beside supervising five PhD candidates.
