VISIT OF ZIMBABWE NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY DELEGATION – 20 JUNE 2022
A forty-nine member Zimbabwe National Defence University (ZNDU) Delegation led by “Air Vice Marshall Michael Tedzani Moyo, Vice-chancellor/Commandant ZNDU visited CIPS/ Peacekeeping Training Department on 20th June 2022. The members were student officers from the Zimbabwean Army, Navy, Air Force, and Civilians. They were received by Major General Muhammad Salim Raza (Retd) Principal NIPCONS.
After the welcoming remarks from Principal NIPCONS, the Head of Department (PKT) briefed the delegation about NUST/ CIPS and Peacekeeping Training being conducted at CIPS as per UNSCR and Integrated Training Service (ITS) policy/ material and instructions. The briefing was followed by an interactive session with the participants wherein issues deliberated/ discussed were regarding the role of the Pakistan Navy and Air force in the peacekeeping missions, the possibility of the peacekeeping mission in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the role of diplomacy in peace-building in areas affected by conflicts. The questions generated a very healthy and thoughtful discussion among the visiting delegates. They were responded by Principal NIPCONS, Associate Dean and Head of Department. At the end of the presentation, a vote of thanks was given by the Zimbabwe spokesperson. Thereafter, Vice-Chancellor/Commandant was presented with NUST and Peacekeeping Dept shields. The Commandant of ZDDU also presented the Zimbabwe National Defence University shield to Principal NIPCONS.
The delegate’s members were then requested for a group photograph after which they were taken on to a guided tour of NUST. The delegation departed NUST/CIPS after a very informative and educative visit.
