VISIT OF DELEGATION EX NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR DEFENCE STUDIES (NDIS) JAPAN

A twelve member Japanese’s NDIS delegation led by “CAPT (MSDF)” Hoshina Toshiaki, Director of Education Department, National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) visited CIPS/ Peacekeeping Training Department on 19 May 2019. The members consisted of officers from the Japanese Army, Navy, Air Force, and Civilians. They were received by Assistant professor and Associate Dean CIPS Brig Dr. Tugral Yamin (Retd).

The Head of Department briefed the delegation about CIPS and Peacekeeping Training being conducted at CIPS. This was followed by an interactive session wherein issues deliberated/ discussed was the training/ sensitization given to lower staff/ soldiers to handle issues/ threat independently when confronted with mandated tasks of Protecting the Civilians in a conflict zone. The seconds’ discussion revolved around the decision making authority who decides Pakistan participation in various Peacekeeping missions. The issues generated a very healthy and thoughtful discussion among the visiting delegates and the faculty members which were amicably answered.
