VISIT OF ARMED FORCES OF PHILIPPINES TO UNITED NATIONS MILITARY OBSERVER GROUP IN INDIA AND PAKISTAN (UNMOGIP)

Officers and staff from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) paid an official visit to CIPS on 15th November 2019. This was the first official visit by Armed forces of the Philippines to gain first-hand information on the center’s current programs for peacekeeping related missions. During the visit, the officers were briefed about the institutional legacy of the Centre and also about its current and future commitments reflecting its dedicated efforts pertaining to the peacekeeping missions. During the visit, Major General Andres C Centino, Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations AFP especially acknowledged the remarkable endeavors being carried out by the Peacekeeping and Training Department at CIPS. In addition to the aforesaid, the Deputy Chief also spoke highly of the invaluable assistance extended by the Pakistan Armed forces in terms of training, etc. of its officers and emphasized how this assistance serves as an overpowering determinant in terms of strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
