International Peace and Security Summer Course (IPS) 2026

-

Organized by: Centre for International Peace and Stability (CIPS), NUST

Duration: 3rd August – 11 August 2026

Program Overview

The international security environment is changing rapidly. Strategic competition among major powers has intensified. Regional conflicts continue to challenge international peace and stability. At the same time, climate change, cyber threats, artificial intelligence, and economic uncertainty are reshaping the global security landscape.
Pakistan occupies a strategically important position at the crossroads of South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Its geographic location places it at the centre of major geopolitical and security developments. Recent regional crises have further underscored Pakistan’s strategic relevance. Pakistan has demonstrated resilience in responding to evolving security challenges while promoting strategic stability, diplomatic engagement, and peaceful dialogue. As a nuclear state, a leading contributor to international peacekeeping, and an active participant in regional and multilateral diplomacy, Pakistan continues to play an important role in promoting regional stability and constructive international engagement.

The International Peace and Security Summer Course 2026 provides a platform for scholars, practitioners, policymakers, diplomats, researchers, and students to examine these developments. The Program combines expert lectures, panel discussions, policy dialogues, mediation exercises, and interactive learning to strengthen participants’ understanding of contemporary peace and security challenges.
