Description
United Nations Staff Officer Course-46 was held from 6 to 17 January 2025. The purpose of the course was to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the United Nations’ functioning, principles, guidelines, and policies. The course was designed to equip attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively perform their roles as Staff Officers (SOs) in Field Headquarters (FHQ) and Sector Headquarters (SHQ).
Participation
A total of 15 participants attended the course.

Conduct Methodology
The course was conducted in alignment with the Integrated Training Service (ITS) developed training materials. Core Pre-Deployment Training Materials (CPTM) formed the foundation of the curriculum, supplemented by Department of Peace Operations/Department of Operational Support (DPO/DOS) guidance materials. These included peacekeeping training policies, standard operating procedures, and essential guidelines. Subject-matter experts delivered insightful lectures, further enriching the learning experience for participants.
Closing Remarks
In his closing remarks, Associate Dean Dr. Muhammad Makki highlighted the intricate challenges of Peace Operations. He acknowledged that while the two-week course may seem brief, it has been carefully structured to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively contribute to the military aspects of UN peacekeeping mandates in alignment with DPO guidelines. He further emphasized PKT’s commitment to excellence, highlighting its alignment with leading regional and international peacekeeping institutions. Since its inception, PKT has successfully trained over 4,000 peacekeepers. This achievement reinforces Pakistan’s position as one of the top Troop-Contributing Countries (TCCs), consistently recognized for its steadfast dedication to the ideals of peace and security. Concluding his address, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of UNSOC-46 and wished them success in their future endeavors.
