Description

The United Nations Logistic Officer Course (UNLOC – 26) was conducted from 16 to 27 February 2026 as per the United Nations Reinforcement Training Package (RTP). The course is designed to prepare military officers for logistics and staff appointments in ongoing and future UN Peacekeeping Operations. The course develops professional knowledge of UN logistics systems, operational procedures, deployment preparations, and coordination mechanisms required in multinational peace support environments.

Objectives

The course aims to prepare officers to effectively perform duties as Logistics Staff Officers in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations by providing comprehensive knowledge of UN logistics systems, operational procedures, and administrative requirements. It enhances participants’ understanding of supply, movement control, liaison, coordination, and mission support functions at tactical and operational levels. The course also develops the ability to work within multinational and multidimensional mission environments alongside military and civilian components.

Two officers from the Pakistan Army successfully completed the course.

Conduct Methodology

The course was designed to equip peacekeepers with the essential knowledge needed to carry out tasks effectively in UN missions. Participants were exposed to the various facets of their roles and functions. Additionally, they received enlightening presentations from Adjunct Faculty to gain insights from subject-matter experts (SMEs). Participants also got in mission training through Seminars and hands-on learning through extensive Scenario-Based/Tabletop Exercises, ensuring a well-rounded and experiential educational environment.

Closing Ceremony

Brig Engr Syed Mohsan Shah, Retd, delivered the closing remarks during the closing ceremony of the United Nations Logistics Officers Course (UNLOC) after awarding certificates to the successful participants. He congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the course and emphasized that the training conducted at CIPS reflects the operational complexities and logistical challenges faced in actual UN peacekeeping missions. Brig Engr Syed Mohsan Shah appreciated the efforts of the Department of Peace Operation Training (DPOT), which has consistently organized professional peacekeeping courses in accordance with UN policies and guidelines to enhance the capacity of peacekeepers. He further highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding commitment and significant contributions to UN peacekeeping operations as one of the leading Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) globally. In his concluding remarks, he expressed confidence that the course would enhance the participants’ understanding of UN logistics systems, operational procedures, coordination mechanisms, and mission support functions, enabling them to effectively perform future assignments as Logistics Officers in UN Peacekeeping Operations, and wished them success in their professional endeavors.
